Called “a rolling reminder of what could happen when oil runs out,” and “a protest against an unsustainable lifestyle” by The New York Times, artist Jeremy Dean’s CEO Stagecoach is functional art, carved out of the gas-guzzling carcass of a Hummer H2.

With its tricked out interior – complete with LCD video screens and top-of-the-line audio system – to its chrome rims, grille and rails, this statement on wheels went from 300+ horsepower to two horsepower… getting pulled by a pair of Draft Horses through NY’s Central Park. Trading a wallet busting 9 MPG for a couple bails of hay and a trough of water.

Russian graphic designer Nikolay Boltachev is making waves in the industrial design quarter with this amazing hubless BMX concept. While this project is still very much on the drawing board — Boltachev is researching hubless wheels or magnetic bearings — we here at Format think the idea is rock-solid and wish him all the best of luck in getting this into production.
